Mirasol Solar carries on a tradition of energy-efficient products for homes and businesses started by George W. Egglefield in 1959 with the creation of Southern Insulation Co. With over 4 decades of experience, his company has provided energy-saving alternatives for Sarasota, Charlotte, and Manatee counties. In 1977, Southern Insulation created a Solar Water Heating Division, which soon became known as Mirasol. In 1980, Scott Egglefield was among the first in the state of Florida to receive a Solar Contractor License and a State Certified Plumbing Contractor License, which enabled Mirasol to install water heaters, swimming pool heat pumps, and gas heaters.
